Just Trying to Be a Good Ordinary Person
Pseudo-indie developer, professional daydreamer, keyboard warrior, and eternal meetup enthusiast.
Currently working. Surviving. Learning to build life with AI.
Where It Started
In a small border town called Kaiyuan, Yunnan — about as far from Silicon Valley as you can get — I discovered C programming in middle school. It was like finding a secret language that could make things happen.
The Crazy Move
When college applications came around, I did something my teachers thought was insane: I filled in exactly one university and one major. Computer Science. Nothing else. No backup plan.
Looking back, it wasn't ambition. It was just... I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
Places I've Called Home
A wandering path from southwest China to the South Pacific
Yunnan, China
Birthplace. 18 years of small-town dreams.
Yunnan, China
4 years university. Where code got serious.
Guangdong, China
Eye-opening. Made lifelong friends.
Fujian, China
Felt like home immediately.
China
Half a year. Never saw the tourist sites.
Guangdong, China
The rent was... educational.
New Zealand
Arrived. Left. Came back. The fishing's too good.
New Zealand
Lobster and abalone hunting grounds.
The Evolution
I spent years as a software developer — learning the craft, shipping apps, watching people actually use things I built. That never gets old.
But lately, something shifted. AI isn't just another tool in the toolkit. It's changing what's possible.
So now I'm exploring something bigger: not just using AI to build products, but using AI to build life. Whatever that means. I'm still figuring it out.
Current Focus
How to use AI to build life
What I Believe
Code
The foundation. Still write it every day. There's something meditative about making things work.
AI
The accelerator. Changes everything. Not just what we build, but how we think about building.
Life
The point. Why we build anything. Auckland sunsets, fishing trips, the stuff between the code.
