This Apple TV Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices for the tvOS version of HiPlayer, also listed as Hi IPTV Player in the App Store. It is intended to be used with the general HiPlayer Privacy Policy.
HiPlayer for Apple TV is an M3U and M3U8 playlist player. The app does not include built-in channels, media, or playlists. You choose the playlist and stream sources that the app loads.
Summary for Apple TV
- No HiPlayer account is required on Apple TV.
- No third-party ads are displayed.
- No cross-app or cross-website tracking is used.
- The developer does not sell personal data.
- The app does not request access to camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or location.
- Playlists can sync through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available.
Information You Add on Apple TV
On Apple TV, you may add or use:
- Playlist URLs.
- Playlist files shared or synced from another device.
- Optional EPG/program guide URLs.
- Optional channel logo or image URLs.
- Playlist names, icons, favorites, playback preferences, and channel list settings.
- A PIN or passcode used locally to protect selected playlist data.
This information is used only to provide playback, playlist management, program guide, channel logo, favorites, recent channel, and app preference features.
Storage and iCloud Sync
HiPlayer stores Apple TV app data locally on the Apple TV. When iCloud is available for your Apple ID, HiPlayer can use Apple CloudKit with the private iCloud container iCloud.com.ohmyapps.hiplayer to sync saved playlists and app data with your other Apple devices.
The developer does not operate a separate sync server for HiPlayer. CloudKit data is stored in your private iCloud database and is handled by Apple under Apple’s iCloud and privacy terms.
If CloudKit is unavailable, the Apple TV app uses local storage on the device.
Network Requests on Apple TV
HiPlayer for Apple TV makes network requests only as needed for app functionality:
- To download playlist data from URLs that you add.
- To download EPG/program guide data from URLs that you add or that are referenced by your playlists.
- To download channel logos or images referenced by your playlists.
- To play media streams from stream URLs contained in your playlists.
- To sync app data through Apple’s CloudKit service when iCloud is available.
Playlist providers, EPG providers, logo hosts, and streaming servers may receive normal network information such as your IP address, request headers, and the requested URL. These sources are chosen by you or referenced by playlists you add, and they are not controlled by the developer.
Playback Engines
HiPlayer for Apple TV may use SGPlayer as the primary playback engine and AVPlayer as a fallback. These playback engines are used to play the media URLs contained in playlists that you add. They are not used by the developer for advertising or tracking.
Advertising, Tracking, and Analytics
HiPlayer for Apple TV does not:
- Display third-party advertising.
- Use third-party advertising SDKs.
- Track you across apps or websites.
- Sell your personal data.
- Share app data with data brokers.
- Include a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Apple may provide crash logs or diagnostic reports to developers if you choose to share diagnostics with Apple or if Apple makes App Store diagnostic information available through developer tools. Any such diagnostic information is used only to identify and fix technical problems.
Your Choices on Apple TV
You can:
- Choose whether to add playlist URLs, EPG URLs, logo URLs, or playlist files.
- Delete saved playlists in the app.
- Change iCloud availability through Apple TV’s Apple ID and iCloud settings.
- Delete the app to remove local app data from the Apple TV.
- Manage iCloud app data through Apple’s iCloud settings where available.
Because HiPlayer does not require a developer account, the developer does not maintain an account profile that can be separately deleted.
Content Responsibility
HiPlayer does not provide, host, sell, or include any channels, media, or playlists. The Apple TV app only plays content that you add or sync. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions required to access any content you load or play with the app.
